2022 was the first year in 2 years that I'm Cancer free and had no treatments! Whoop!

I did however have one biopsy done a few months back after I had some redness on the same boob that I was unsure of. But the Breast Care Team are brilliant, got me in next day after ringing them with my concern and had a Biopsy there and then. A few days later I get the results, luckily it was only a bit of dermatitis. But they said its always worth getting it checked out.

Anyway, Dan and I celebrated New Years Eve with some friends, lots of laughter and fun. When the NYs actually hit and we were watching the fireworks on the TV I came over all emotional. It reminded me of the NYE celebrations I used to have growing up. Over our neighbours house playing darts and singing Auld Lang Syne. It also reminded me another year has past that I survived cancer, whereas some people I know haven't. So I am very grateful for that.

In just 12 days I will be celebrating my 40th Birthday (I know WTF!), I booked to go to Iceland with Dan as this is where we spent my 30th Birthday. I'm really looking forward to that, but the snow over there seems to be dissapearing, I hope there is still some there when I arrive!

Life is still as challenging as it has been, with all my other ailments, but changing jobs really has helped. That side of things is a lot less stressful. One thing I do want to do this year is lose the weight I put on during Chemo and get a bit fitter...I know, I've said this before but I really do mean it this time!

One thing coming up this month, is I'm getting Sterlilised, if you don't know what that is, its the female version of getting the snip!

The sort of questions I have been as by people about this are;

- Are you sure you dont' want children? Yes, i am very sure!

- Cant you go on the pill? I am over 35 and over 35 BMI so I had to stop the pill I was on, plus I cannot have any hormones due to the higher risk of cancer.

- Why not try the non-hormonal coil? I have tried it, for one it was the most painful thing I've ever had done, was the coil being fitted, and within 4 months had to have it removed due to pre-cancerous cells being found on my cervix during a routine smear test. So no, i'm not going through that again.

- Why cant Dan get the snip? We did go down that route a few years back but there were complications so that couldn't go ahead without major surgery.

- Are you POSITIVE you don't want children? (I've repeated this as people don't trust my first answer) YES I AM VERY SURE!!!

I have been on the waiting list for over 9 months now to get this done. It was originally due on the 20th Dec but it got moved to this month. I am looking forward to get it done as for years I've been worried about getting pregnant, as I don't want kids, so this will be one less stress to worry about!

I will let you know how I get one with this next month.

The zen den in the spare room I've been working on is nearly finished, Its fully painted I've just need to sort some last few bits out, again, i'll share more about this once its done!

For now, my alarm has gone off, meaning I need to get up and ready for my first day of work in 2023!

Happy New Year Everyone!
